Volleyball craze in Nepal

Normally every Nepali people know about volleyball game. This is very famous in Nepal as well as this is Nepalese National game. Majority of Youth are playing volleyball in different places. Specially west Nepal and central hill side area have missive crowd. In Nepal volleyball has own different history rather that other games. This is oldest game in Nepal compare the cricket, football.

Nowadays also large number of youth generation are playing different village and cites area. For example last Saturday was huge crowd in tinkune ground Kathmandu. Huge number of boys and girls are playing volleyball with different team. Youth craze was so missive and curious about volleyball.

An especially game between east and far west Nepal was so great; around thousand people were in this ground some are seeing game from different places with having peanuts, orange and other foods and some playing other games. Every day youth are playing different games in tinkune, But Saturday are big day due to the government Holiday.

Rajesh Budha from Aacham he is studying bachelor level in Kathmandu. He has very passionate about volleyball. Budha and his friends are always playing volleyball in weekend time with different team. Like: Far west VS East Nepal, One college VS different college and other volleyball teams. ‘Specially Saturday is big day for us. Every Saturday we are playing game in different team with huge crowd. We feel happy when we see large people are seeing our game’. He said.

Like Rajesh, Laxman karki from Dolakha were playing amazing volleyball with his dudes in tinkune. He is also very passionate with volleyball. He has dream play volleyball for country Nepal, but he can’t see him future in volleyball due to the various challenges. Like: declining volleyball tournament, government avoid and previous players bad history.

This is serious issue, majority of Nepali youth have great passionate personality in volleyball, but Government priority and few less international match, financial problem is main reason youth are leaving volleyball. And they are thinking volleyball is only entertainment not whole career. We can see few some people only are ending successfully career in volleyball otherwise almost are leaving volleyball game mid-career point of life of Nepal.

Internationally there are limit countries are playing volleyball, that so some people thinking volleyball being just entertainment game. But Nepal can play game with different countries in time to time. Our National game is volleyball, but every Asian game, South Asian games and other’s tournament Nepal became last. Nepal can’t win big trophy and other models yet. The main reason is unregularly game and players are facing various challenges in them life. Government should support player’s life and those financial problems. Then Nepali volleyball will rise again, will defeats strong countries team, probably will begin world number one team in volleyball.
