Chelsea Vs Real Madrid: A calm before storm as Zidane and Tuchel give team updates

Skysports – Zinedine Zidane has insisted that Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos and all his Real Madrid stars are ready to “fight to the death” to beat Chelsea to the Champions League final.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel heaped praise on midfielder N’Golo Kante ahead of the game, saying that the Frenchman’s winning mentality is key to their quest for trophies.

Zidane dismissed any fears over Spain stalwart Ramos’ fitness, before tipping Hazard to find top form on his old stomping ground.

“I’m not going to be taking a risk, Sergio is with us and that means that he is ready to play; that’s it,” said Zidane.

“We’re in the Champions League semi-finals, we are all going to fight to the death out there on the pitch. All the players are ready to play, and then of course I have to pick a team.

“All the players are ready to play, don’t worry.”

World Cup-winner Kante produced a man-of-the-match display as Chelsea secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Madrid for a narrow advantage in the two-legged tie.

Kante has been ever-present in Chelsea’s midfield this season, making 43 appearances in all competitions, and is expected to play an important role again.

“He’s a top guy,” Tuchel told reporters.

“He’s the guy you need to win trophies … that’s why we’re are so happy he’s here and he’s at our club.”

Kante has won the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup titles since joining the London club in 2016 and Tuchel backed the 30-year-old to add the Champions League crown to his collection.
